EMERGENCIES:
JW Marriott Starr Pass considers your safety and security to be paramount. Our security department is staffed 24 hours a day and we randomly patrol the property. Please dial “At Your Service” Department at extension (0) with any questions or concerns. Security officers are trained to respond to all types of emergency situations. They are CPR and First Aid certified.
FIRE SAFETY:
The resort complies with all local/state fire codes. The fire alarm system is designed to monitor all areas of the resort and alarms are signaled in sections. The entire resort may not go into alarm if an emergency occurs in one particular area. There are smoke detectors in every guest room and in public areas. Sprinklers are installed in guestrooms, guestroom corridors, meeting rooms, dining areas, and associate work areas.
The fire alarm system is monitored by security 24 hours a day 7 days a week by an outside company. In the event of an emergency, the fire department will be notified immediately. If evacuation is necessary, please find the nearest emergency exit and leave the resort head out to the golf course.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE ESCALATORS OR ELEVATORS IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Call “At Your Service” at extension (0) for any medical emergency. Security Officers will respond to provide basic first aid and contact the Tucson Fire Department Paramedics if necessary.
The JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa does not carry or maintain Automatic External Defibrillators. We rely on local emergency medical professionals to assist individuals whose heart condition may require the use of an AED. We will provide you with third party information regarding on-site medical services at your expense.
IN THE EVENT OF AN EVACUATION
- Remain in place, unless there is an immediate danger. Listen to audible messaging for further instructions.
- In case of evacuation, proceed to nearest stairwell and exit on ground level. Follow instructions posted on the inside of guestroom door.
EVENT OF AN EVACUATION OR CRITICAL INCIDENT
Gathering location is at the Rattler Golf Course (onsite), hole #9.

POTENTIAL CRISIS SITUATION
If you have an emergency in the hotel go to the nearest phone and dial “0”, one of the Operators will pick up the phone. Let them know where you are and who you are to better help our response.
If you have an emergency and cannot wait at the phone dial “911” and leave the phone off the hook in that area. ONLY USE 911 WHEN IT IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM.
If you have a Security concerns for yourself or others in your group, please contact the Operator at “0” and you will be put in touch with the Loss Prevention Department.

JW Marriott Starr Pass Emergency Protocol
It is imperative that JW Marriott Starr Pass Control Center be notified FIRST for any life/death emergency. They are able to dispatch emergency personnel and they are responsible for notification to outside responders Tucson Police Department, Tucson Fire Department
